Reminder: Aunt Ruby's Quilt of Family Military Veterans

This is a reminder...as of August 9 Mary Ellen has received only three photos. The quilt that she and Aunt Ruby will make from them will be a priceless tribute to our family members who have served in the military. Do your part by sending in photographs of family members in uniform - past and present. Here is the email I received today from Mary Ellen:
Please remind the family that we need pictures of family menbers that have served and are serving in the service. Photo will be returned as soon as quilt is completed at this time I only have 3. need names and any information that they would like under their photo. Thanks for your help. Mary Ellen - Ruby's daughter (If you don't know where to send your photos, you can email Mary Ellen for instructions at Marysturbaum@wmconnect.com )
Original request for photos:
The following was received from Mary Ellen Sturbaum, daughter of Ruby Proffit.

"It has been a dream of mother to do a quilt with all the photo's of family members who have served in the military. She would like to have a photo of each of them in uniform if possible. We will return the photo unharmed. If it's something they do not want to send in the mail I will pay for them to have a copy made or bring them to the family reunion this year. Her plan is to make the quilt and auction it off at the family reunion next year. I know that sounds like a long time away, but it will take time to gather all the photo's and make the quilt."

Let me encourage all members of the Peters' family to send Aunt Ruby Military Patches and Pictures for her quilt.
It is my personal opinion this labor of love should not be an auction item for the family reunion. I believe it should be entrusted to the Veterans of our family. It could be entrusted to the oldest veteran amongst us and could be passed down accordingly and always stay with the oldest Veteran. Another idea would be to pass it down to the Youngest veteran or service member amongst us and let it serve as a reminder of the Legacy that has gone before them. The Veterans of our family would be the trustees of Aunt Ruby's Quilt and decide who would be the caretaker of the Quilt and how it is to passed.
